Manifesto – Matouš Janák

Strong voice

My name is Matouš Janák and I am 20 years old.
I was junior ambassador of European Parliament for 2 years. This project allowed me to represent youths in European Parliament in Strasbourg. I was also invited to awarding of Sacharrov prize in 2022. I was also representative for People in Need´s project 1Planet4All in Brussels 2022.
Thanks to these opportunities and many more I will be representing your voice with pleasure and as professionally as it can be.

Support with opportunities
As a reaction on what I have heard from students on ATU, my main point is help them getting a part time job along with studying. I will also keep the financial support as it works now. Even though there is this financial support option, a lot of students are searching for a job and it is no easy here.

Mental health
Speaking of which, if there is one thing needed and hard to get this time, it is some help for our mental health. I know there is psychological help on campus, but I heard complains that it is too slow. My plan is to expand the personal but also make something completely new. I will make anonymous chat and call based platform, where everyone could be able to log anonymously and will get fast reply, so people can share their problems. Sometimes all we need is someone, who we can speak with.

Improving Campus – Canteen
Following previous point, base of mental health is feeling good in our surrounding. That is why I will try to improve our campus in every way possible. I will start with our main canteen. From students I have heard complains, that in the main canteen are often just meals with or from meat, which can be problem for people who do not eat meat. I want to change that so every day, there will be at least one non-meat main course available.

Stream of Consciousness
Sharing information is really important. If students would be informed better in what is going on in Student Union or Student Senate, they could join for help, or at least they will know what to expect earlier, than when the project is starting. To make sure that every student will get information as they should have, I would start a project, that will do summaries of every meeting or project, that will happen.

European Union
I also want to share more information from European Union in school. A lot pf people know about Erasmus+, but there is much more possibilities for students and lectures, that EU offers, for example volunteering abroad to help the planet, or to learn new languages and self-realise yourselves.

Together, students can move mountains. Let me show you how!

Let your voice be heard!
